PM Comments From Camp Bastion May Come Back To Bite Him

Off-Shore Cameron met forces stationed at Camp Bastion in Helmand where he had breakfast with the troops. It is just a year before the last British forces are due to leave Afghanistan.

He was asked by reporters if personnel were coming home with the message “Mission Accomplished”, the prime minister, accompanied by former England footballer Michael Owen (welcome relief for viewers to BTSport), said: “Yes, I think they do.”

This is a play on the phrase used by George W. Bush May 1st 2003 concerning the war in Iraq. In fact the vast majority of casualties, both military and civilian, occurred after this speech.

Let us hope that, for once, Cameron knows what he is talking……we have our doubts.
