The lawyers working for Janner we not able to persuade the High Court that he is ‘unfit’ to attend court to face charges of child sex abuse.
This means that he must now attend Westminster Magistrates’ Court this Friday in relation to some 22 charges. His very well paid lawyers had argued it was “barbaric, inhumane and uncivilised” for Janner to attend.
The judges considered the argument and then came to the correct decision that there was a “strong public interest” in his attendance. If Janner fails to turn-up on Friday he would be liable for arrest.
While we ponder all this just remember that Janner is a barrister who went on to become a QC. He knows how the law works.
