Pakistan needed just four off of the last ball of a 240 ball match. A boundary would have won the game while running three would have taken us into some bizarre ‘hit-off’ decider! Luckily for England the batsman missed the ball and they took the series win.
To be fair to England they had looked like winning it easily but then in came Shahid Afridi. His nickname of Boom-Boom was spot on as he hit 24 runs off of just 8 balls. The trouble was they left it too late for him to bat. Pakistan were way behind the run rate and Afridi had to do so much to get them on a par that he had to take major risks. He has to bat much earlier – the crowd just want to see him bat and it makes no sense leaving it so late.
Great game of cricket though.
