For those of us who started computing back in the 1980’s then the name Sinclair is well known. It is Sir Clive Sinclair who came up with some nutty ideas but at the heart of it all were his computers. These were the first computers that could be thought of as affordable and could be taken home. It all went a bit pear-shaped for dear Clive but there has been a games revival.
Through crowd-funding there is a scheme to produce a retro games console on a device known as the ZX Spectrum Vega+. It will come with 1,000 games pre-loaded as long as the crowd-funding all goes to plan.
The company organising this is The Indiegogo Project and they say that development of the product is complete and that a “fully working prototype” is ready to go into production – with units shipping as early as this summer.
