All that, “Hug a Huskie” old bollox as went on his skiing holiday. We knew it was all tosh and today it was confirmed for anyone who still doubted it.
An application to carry out fracking in England for the first time since a ban was lifted in 2012 has been approved by North Yorkshire County Council. They have approved a bid by Third Energy to extract shale gas at a site near Kirby Misperton in Ryedale with the council planning committee voting 7-4 in favour.
As a show of strength, and a clear indication that ‘someone’ knew how it would go, immediately after the vote, North Yorkshire Police tweeted a warning to protesters.
It read: “Please be aware, the police will take action against unlawful behaviour linked to the #nyshale protest.”
We didn’t have visions of another Yorkshire police force and Orgreave; honest.
