Bovy Camp had to call out Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service when they had a fire on the top floor of the seven-storey residential building. It needed 10 engines to put the blaze out.
It seems it was started when two officers fired flares at one another while duelling in in kayaks in the swimming pool. Now that needs a second reading!
It has come to light that it may have all been down to some after dinner entertainment following the completion of a course for prospective tank troop commanders. “FIRE!”
It resulted in considerable damage to the army barracks and the Royal Military Police are now investigating the incident.
