Let’s be honest, they would be out on their ear pretty damn quick. If they weren’t sacked it would certainly be made clear that it was time to ‘move on’.
Well Ofsted chairman David Hoare didn’t just say it to one parent – he said it about the whole of the Isle of Wight. He referred to it as a “ghetto” and that “there has been inbreeding”.
It seems he lives on the mainland near the island and, at what must be some thoroughly exciting dinner parties, education on the Isle of Wight is often a topic of conversation.
“They think of it as holiday land. But it is shocking,” he said. “It’s a ghetto; there has been inbreeding.
“Seven state schools were all less than good. There is a mass of crime, drug problems, huge unemployment.”
As you would expect the likes of Mike Wilshaw has come out and told everyone what a damn spiffing, fine-fellow he is and certainly will not be sacked. Clearly being lined up for another honour when the next gravy-train sets out. LINK to sound clip.
