Dorset Knob Contest Moves To Dorchester

The Dorset Knob contest has got so big that it has to move to Dorchester this April. It’s been held in Cattistock for nine years but the 10th anniversary sees it move to a new home at Kingston Maurward.

As the Cattistock organisers explained the Dorset Knob contest has just grown too big.

For those unfamiliar with the country ways, let us explain. The Dorset Knob is a spherical biscuit and the contest involves lobbing it as far as you possibly can. They are made locally but the well-known makers are Moores of Morecombelake who have been making them for over 150 years.

The current record holder is proud Dave Phillips who lobbed his knob a very impressive 29.4m.
