Madison Marriage, a reporter with the Financial Times, worked at an event for The Presidents Club held at The Dorchester, said she and “numerous other hostesses” were groped at an event that was advertised as its men-only annual charity dinner.
The men who attended were senior figures in business and finance along with a sprinkling of MPs. The names reported were David Walliams (compere), Tory Department for Education Director David Mellor, Education Minister Nadhim Zahawi and TV presenter Jonny Gould. Curiously, when asked about the event, none of them had seen anything!
Madison said some 130 hostesses were told to wear skimpy black outfits with matching underwear and high heels and also that they could drink alcohol while ‘working’.
As you would expect May-Day has really got stuck into this sexist event and it was reported that she was “uncomfortable” – well that REALLY told them!
